28.09.24 Creative labour seminar at the Thai Labour Museum
On Saturday 28 September 2024, we will be hosting a seminar on 'Creative labour in screen, publishing, audio visual translation and the re-composition of labour post-Covid-19'. Joining us are speakers from various expertise.
The first panel focuses on workers who traverse the spaces and screen from book and subtitles translation (Tongta Suthummaransi), film producer and part-time translator (Tanwarat Sombatwattana) to freelance writer and editorial board of The101.world (Pimchanok Puksuk).
The second panel covers the topic of labour re-composition, negotiation and communications. Speakers are a representative of the Thai Labour Museum (Wassana Lumdee), one of the founders of the Creative Workers Union Thailand (Ketnakorn Potchanaworapong) and the chair of Film Editors Association of Thailand (Manuss Worasing).
Following the conversations, there will also be a tour of the museum before their closure for renovation. As it is not a state funded museum, the fundraising is also being set up to help support the renovation and the work of the museum.
